I've left my underground comic a bit late as I was stuck on what can I write about that would be contemporary but still in the spirit of underground comics.

I'm not going to give too much away but mine will involve:

Mickey Mouse in a homage to The Air Pirates

And a take on the contemporary underground culture of Furries. ( people who dress up as anthropomorphic animals to express their 'spirit animals' but mostly just for weird sex.

In summary Mickey walks into a Furry Convention only to be ravaged by people dressed as various animals who think he is one of them.

Great Newspaper article on them here that's worth a read if only for the line;
'When I arrived at the library and saw the computer...I was sickened. I can say without a doubt that it was the most disturbing, depraved thing i have ever had the misfortune to witness'

Character perpectives

Theres quite a few videos on this web page about drawing characters from different perspectives, its a little hard to see what the guys actually drawn because of the poor light (and for some reason he doesn't show the end result) but the method behind it is clear

It even has colours in perspective.

extra Perspective OR other Spatial system project for NEXT week

Hi!

Task 1 - Find a you tube video that teaches you some aspect of perspective or other spatial system, that interests you.
Task 2 - Demonstrate this lesson by teaching it to us.



The key is not to look for the most obvious of lessons, as we will all be doing one point perspective over and over again!

I wasn't happy with the clock face so I went back and re-drew that. I'll sort the writing out on the earn later...

Issues for me at the moment are: whilst I wanted to make the mannequin as angelic as possible I think she looks more like a ghost that an angel so I may go back to those images, I'll see how the character progress' visually.

Creating Your Own Book

Ive looked for more publishers but there doesn't seem to be any 'student friendly' ones that are cheap and have a fast turn around-

this site is great for learning/practicing how to create a simple book or anthology like ink soup etc, and could be sold at relevant book fairs :)

This guy Winston Parr is excellent, this is what i want to be striving towards, simple yet effective images that portray a message.
Go from the start and look at the story, you get this real sense of movement and change.

I really dont know where im goin with this one because im making it up as i go along, i like the sequential aspects of some artists on grande papier but Im not that pleased with this one, Ive already scrapped another one before this.
I'll post the influences tomorrow.





I know its quite not 1 post a day but without sounding lazy, Im am trying to simplify things so I can do it faster but I just get caught up in the drawing. It was a big mistake doing this in pencil as I don't use it often, only to plan stuff out.

Daft comic for 7 days thingy
