Update- BMI
Hello there, apologies for a lack of involvement over the past weeks, haha I've had a fair share of technological problems of late, starting with my illegitimate adobe cs3 crashing, to the then illegitimate Cs1 Photoshop crashing to my macbook basically losing the plot...lol so looks like I'll be re-booting soon!
Anyway enough self-pity, I thought I should update what I've been up to! So firstly here is my BMI entry, "Bald Cypress", experimentating with colour- this version is darker on top than bottom but i equalized the levels out in the final version, but I can't get that file up at the moment- lol arggh!
Hope everyone is having a good summer!

Scare
This video's come out darker than I wanted so it's a bit hard to see what's going on at some points so I apologise, tilten your screen may help! - is because I'm using the video facility on my digital camera rather than an actual video camera.

Shoot Out
Ok guys your gonna have to use your imagination a bit with this one! Theres loads of bullets flying round and loud bangs and explosions happening - james bond esq! With this video I tried to give it a bit of a narrative which I hope comes across well when you see it. I also tried to be a bit more adventurous with my angles, and fast editing, some of which I don't think work but like the last video I had some restrictions which can't be helped. Hope you enjoy it!
Theres a couple more video's semi finished so they'll be up here soon!

what i have been up too
yes, i havnt been that lazy over the summer.
been working hard on drawings and some ideas to be worked on for negotiated. and took part in art activities for children. (i tend to shy away from anything to do with being confident and speaking to people or being sociable with people i dont know well, but iam working on this 8D ) i also managed to get use a studio space from contacts hehe
but meanwhile heres some of the drawing i have done. gone into precise inking doodles and pattern structures based on shells and other organic forms. this is just two doodles put together (iam happy with results of not cheating with copy and paste ;D) iam going to do see where i can go in narrative with this kind of abstract.

Car Sequence
If you could try and imagine it with fast music playing and the sounds of the car roaring and screeching it might be a bit more effective!

Christopher Hittinger
"Christopher Hittinger is a young French-American cartoonist who asserted himself to a large audience thanks to the “James Town” graphic novel. In this work Hittinger describes the adventures of John Smith and his companions, discovering American lands."

jaakko pallasvuo
I like both the use of ink washes and line drawing as well his integration of colour (in his other work).
There is the very Scandinavian feel to the work, but interesting that he studied at the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts, and that there doesn't seem to be any specific design/illustration courses - perhaps this is a good thing!

Oni-press talent search
http://www.onipress.com/blog/?p=847
not sure if anyone is familiar with oni-press. but they are having a talent search. no prizes, but onipress dont accept submissions so this is an opportunity to get into their books that you wouldnt normaly have. not sure about the styles of the artsists currently on there compared to the alternative styles here, but i thought id let people know about it.
-thought itd be more suitable for ED, and maybe milan and katie
